*On September 1, Relia, Inc. merged with KDDI Evolva, Inc. to form a new company: Altius Link, Inc.
It's undeniable that Covid-19 has brought significant change in the way people do business. Much of the world moved online resulting in accelerating digital transformation. Many employees work from home and children take classes online. Many companies adjust their work styles to maintain the day to day operation and generate revenue. Remote work in a way has become a new normal.
One of the significant changes in workstyle we see is adopting work-from-home. In Japan, the government has been promoting remote work since the 1980. Relia has also promoted work-from-home in many operations. However, the high hurdles in terms of security, infrastructure and management resulted in difficulties in implementation. At that stage, remote work was not deemed necessary.
When the Covid-19 pandemic broke down in 2020, remote work was implemented for the purpose of business continuity and to ensure the safety and security of our employess. At the initial stage, many companies in Japan including Relia decided this measure as a temporary measure to respond to emergency situations. After the first state of emergency, the case number still continues to rise, it became clear that the long term solution and implementation measure must be accumulated.
While many companies are required to reform their work style and improve the employee experiences, more and more are introducing WFH as one of the usual operation methods as opposed to emergency measures to promote diversity workstyle. As of August 2021, about 10% of Relia operations are carried out by WFH and the scale is currently expanding. In some operations, we carry out 100% work WFH without any physical office space. In that attempt, Relia received a 90% satisfaction from our employees.
Given the fact that the regulations and policies are different in each country, global companies are driven by speed and flexibility of decision. Inspiro, our subsidiary in the Philippines, have improved the responsiveness to propose the optimal solutions while maintaining our client's security policy. Currently about 30% of agents work from home. Remote work is made possible on the condition that the location must be secure and that the internet connection meets the system requirements For those who can't, Inspiro provides shuttle buses and accomodation close to the operation site during the strict lockdown. Virtual meeting tools such as Google Meet, Microsoft team, and Adobe Connect were utilized to accommodate communication between onsite and remote workers.
With the Covid-19 cases continuing to rise, we commit to promote work from home for the welfare and security of our employees.
